The Chinese consumer electronics giant Coolpad on Wednesday launched the Mega 2.5D selfie-focused smartphone in India at a price of Rs. 6,999. The smartphone will be available as a Amazon exclusive on sale at 2pm, August 24.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and a pixel density of 294ppi, 2.5D curved glass, and a 73-percent screen to body ratio. The Coolpad Mega 2 is powered by a 1GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735P SoC that’s coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone runs under Coolpad’s CoolUI 8.0 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The smartphone sports 8 megapixel camera sensors on the front and the back. The front camera has an f/2.2 aperture, and n 83.6-degree field of view, while the rear auto focus camera bears an f/2.0 aperture and a Sony sensor.
The phone has 16GB inbuilt storage which can expand up to 32Gb via microSD and the phone supports 4G LTE and VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB.
Packed with a 2500mAh battery the phone can barely last a day with moderate usage and some battery saving skills. The Mega 2.5D weighs 140 grams, and is 7.85mm thick.
